
Sockers Go Cold Against Wave

After being outscored 15-0 in the second period, the Sockers couldn¹t seem to find a way to win, falling to the Western Conference leading Milwaukee Wave, 19-2 at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee. The Sockers travel to Baltimore to take on the Blast tomorrow at 4:35 p.m. (PST).
Both teams began the game with little shooting, finishing the first period 0-0. Just 32 seconds into the second period Joe Reiniger scored a three pointer getting the Wave on the board. Johnny Torres kept the run going with a goal at 1:32, followed by Brian Loftin with a three pointer at 2:35. The Wave finished the first half with a 15-0 lead over the Sockers.
Mariano Bollella scored the only goal for the Sockers at 3:34 in the third period off an assist from Matt Johnson.
Nick Vorberg was in goal for the Sockers, taking the loss with 11 saves. Former Socker and current Wave goalkeeper Victor Nogueira totaled nine saves and took the win, keeping his place as the leading goalkeeper in the MISL.
Carlos Calderson did not play due to an injury and Matthew Stewart was injured in tonight¹s contest, making him questionable for tomorrow.
