SOCKERS TRAVEL TO EVERGREEN STATE
The San Diego Sockers are in Tacoma, Washington for a pair of games against their PASL Western Division rivals, the Tacoma Stars. Saturday's 7pm contest doubles as a PASL regular season game and the Western semi-final of the US Open for Arena Soccer. Sunday's game will begin at 3pm, with both games webstreamed live (audio only) on 619Sports.Net.
ON THE LINE: SOCKERS WIN STREAKS
The Sockers have not lost a match of any kind since dropping an overtime 9-8 decision to the now-defunct California Cougars on December 27th, 2010. Since then, San Diego has won 21 consecutive matches overall, and 15 consecutive regular season matches in the PASL. In addition to their all-time record of 29-0 at the Del Mar Arena, the Sockers have won nine consecutive road matches, including playoffs and US Open play.
TURLOCK AWAITS IN OPEN CUP WESTERN FINAL
The winner of Saturday's contest will advance to play the Turlock Express in the Western final. If the Sockers are victorious, their upcoming January 21st home game against the Express will "double" as a PASL regular season game and the Open Cup Western final.
LIFE ON THE ROAD
January is the busiest month on the schedule for the Sockers, with eight games in 22 days. San Diego is 2-0 so far through this difficult stretch of schedule, which includes five road games. The Sockers play back-to-back games every weekend in January.
ANOTHER WEEK, ANOTHER HONOR FOR CHILES
Defending PASL MVP Kraig Chiles is tearing up the league in his third season, leading the PASL in goals (23) and points (35). Chiles holds a nine-point and six-goal lead over his nearest competitors. After erupting for six points in each of San Diego's wins last weekend over Anaheim and Phoenix, Chiles earned his third PASL Player of the Week honor for the season, sharing the Week 9 award with Tijuana forward Cesar Romero.
SUSI 500: SEVEN TO GO
Sockers captain Aaron Susi enters play on Saturday with 493 career points in his 15-year indoor soccer career, leaving him seven short of the 500 mark.
INJURY UPDATE
Defender John Krause (Achilles tendon) and midfielder Nate Hetherington (hamstring) did not make the trip to Tacoma. Defender Dan Antoniuk (groin) is expected to return to the lineup after missing San Diego's last game.
OPPONENT'S PROFILE: Tacoma Stars
SEASON: 3-5

Last Meeting: SOCKERS 8, Stars 3 (12/17/11)
The Stars have not played since losing to the Sockers on Dcember 17th, a span of 23 days in between games.
