
Sockers Engaged in Valentine's Day Affair

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The San Diego Sockers host the 2003 MISL Champion Baltimore Blast Saturday night at 7 p.m. at the Sports Arena. This is the second game of the four-game season series, and the first in San Diego this year. The teams met on November 21, 2003 with the Blast coming away with a 3-1 victory at 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore.
The game also marks the return of Carlos "Chile" Farias to San Diego. Farias spent the last two seasons with the Sockers and was the team's leading goal-scorer in each of those seasons. Farias finished the 2002-03 MISL season with 37 goals and 28 assists in 35 games, finishing second in the league scoring race. The native of Chile was dealt to the Blast in exchange for All-Star defender Sean Bowers this past summer.
The Sockers and Blast have a storied rivalry that dates back to the original MISL. The Sockers lead the all-time series with the Blast 26-25. In addition, San Diego won four of their ten indoor soccer titles by beating the Blast in the final.

Several players from the San Diego Sockers will participate in the 12th annual San Diego Brazil Carnaval on Saturday night. The players will walk in the Carnaval parade which starts at midnight. The event starts at 8:30 p.m. and the fun lasts until 4 a.m.

Yeah Baby Family Expo
San Diego Sockers staff and will be at the Yeah Baby Expo at the Del Mar Fairgrounds this Saturday and Sunday. Visit the Sockers booth and sign up to win prizes. The Sockers inflatable will be present and on Saturday from noon to 1 p.m., players Kevin Legg and Riley Swift will give a mini-exhibition.
