
Sockers Announce Suspensions

San Diego Sockers News Release
The San Diego Sockers have announced the suspension of midfielder Brandon Escoto for the remainder of the 2019-2020 MASL campaign, including playoffs. Escoto has been suspended for conduct detrimental to the team. In addition, the Sockers have suspended forward Cesar Romero for two weeks, and midfielder/forward Eduardo Velez for one week, both also for conduct detrimental to the team.
"We don't come to this decision easily or lightly," said Sockers general manager Sean Bowers, "We wish Brandon well in the future. Our club's focus remains on the Ron Newman Cup."
Escoto, 26, recorded (8-10=18) points in 17 matches with the Sockers this season. Romero has not recorded a point in four appearances. Velez has played in 13 matches, scoring (4-8=12) points.
