Sockers Announce 2003-04 Schedule

(July 24, 2003- San Diego) The Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) announced the 2003-04 regular-season schedule today, along with a three-division alignment. The San Diego Sockers are slated to begin the season on Saturday, October 4, 2003, playing host to the Philadelphia KiXX. San Diego, Dallas and the newly formed Monterrey Fury will compete in the Western Division. Dallas, San Diego and a Monterrey team, then known as the La Raza, competed in the Continental Indoor Soccer League (CISL) from 1993-96.
"The MISL Western Division is comprised of teams with deep-rooted tradition and rivalries," said Sockers Head Coach and General Manager Brian Quinn. "These teams have always competed well against us and I can't wait to get the season started."
The nine active teams in the MISL will play 36-game schedules, six games against each divisional mate and four against teams in other divisions. The Eastern Division consists of the Baltimore Blast, Cleveland Force, Philadelphia KiXX, while the Central Division contains the Milwaukee Wave, St. Louis Steamers and Kansas City Comets.
