Snakes Add Player, Announce Training Camp Schedule

The Columbus Cottonmouths have added another player to their roster as they prepare to open training camp next week for the 2010-11 season.

Brett Beauchamp comes to the Snakes after attending 2010-11 training camp with the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL. Last season, the 6-foot-2, 220-lb defenseman spent time with the Wichita Thunder of the Central Hockey League, registering two points and 45 PIMs in 22 games. He spent the 2008-09 season with a trio of ECHL teams, collecting six points in 41 games. Beauchamp hails from Montreal, Quebec.

The Snakes will officially open training camp this Monday, Oct. 11. The Snakes will take the ice Monday at 2 p.m. Tuesday at 4:30 p.m., and Wednesday at 8 a.m. They will travel on Thursday for practice and return home to the Snake Pit Friday, Oct. 15 for an exhibition game against the Pensacola Ice Flyers at 7:30 p.m. The Snakes will head to Biloxi to face the Mississippi Surge in exhibition, Saturday, Oct. 16.

The Cottonmouths will practice at 10 a.m. Monday through Friday, Oct. 18-22, and open the 2010-11 regular season at home against the Ice Flyers Friday, Oct. 22 at 7:30 p.m. All practice times are tentative and subject to change.
