Sevierville, Tenn. -Two Greenville (34-30) pitchers combined to shutout the Smokies (34-32) in the second game of Thursday's doubleheader. The 7-0 loss concluded a 1-7 homestand for the Smokies.

Chris Waters (2-0) threw 6 2/3 shutout innings and picked up the win to complete the four game sweep for the Braves. A six-run sixth inning was highlighted by a grand slam by catcher J.C. Boscan off Kevin Sprague. The home run was Boscan's first this season.

In the first game the G-Braves used a two-out home run in the ninth by Cory Aldridge to come from behind with a 5-4 win. The game was resumed from the Wednesday night contest that was suspended in the bottom of the 3rd inning due to lightning and heavy rain.

Mike Lyons (1-3) was hit for just his second blown save of the season in game one. With two outs in the inning, Jason Fitzgerald knocked a single through the infield off the Smokies' closer. Aldridge followed with a 2-run home run that gave the Braves their final lead of the game.

Kevin Barry (2-3) notched his 2nd win in relief for Greenville by pitching a scoreless ninth.

Tennessee travels to Zebulon, North Carolina to play the Mudcats in the final series of the first half. The Smokies will send Jeremy Cummings (6-5) to the mound to face Todd Moser (4-2).
