
Smokies Activate Schumaker, Prepare for Playoffs

Sevierville, Tenn.- Sunday the Smokies activated OF Skip Schumaker from the DL (stress fracture in lower leg) to take the open roster spot from Julio Villalon, who had been placed on the DL (elbow). A new roster is attached.
The Smokies clinched a playoff spot and will host game three (best of five) of the first round playoffs Friday night at Smokies Park. Should Tennessee win the second half, the Smokies would host games 4 and 5 (if necessary) Saturday and Sunday as well. With first half champ Carolina in action early Sunday afternoon, the Smokies hold a 1/2 game lead with two games remaining. The Mudcats have three games left including a double header beginning Monday morning in Orlando.
