FIRE SCORES IN BUNCHES: The Fire scored in double figures every quarter Friday night in Albany en route to a 73-63 victory over the Conquest, sweeping the season series. For the fourth time in four games against the Conquest the first team to score 60 points won the game, the Fire is 3-1 all-time against Albany. Cesare Manning, filling in for an injured Rob Mager at the offensive specialist position, broke a team record with seven touchdown receptions. Manning also hauled in a total of 12 receptions for 152 yards in being named Offensive Player of the Game. Dennis Fryzel continued his outstanding play tallying one touchdown receiving and rushing and had one tackle on defense being named US Army Ironman of the Game. Marvin Constant was named ADT Defensive Player of the Game for his four and a half tackles, one pass break up, and one quarterback hurry. The Fire totaled their third highest point total in a game. The Fire will now have the week off as the af2 has instituted the first ever league wide bye week for the Fourth of July weekend.

NEXT UP: The Fire will return to action on Saturday July 9 in Freedom Hall when the San Diego Riptide (4-8) comes to Louisville for the first time ever. The two teams met during the 2002 season when the Riptide defeated the Fire 68-27 in San Diego. The first 1,000 fans with receive a Fire football and the game will kick-off at 7:30 P.M.

MORE RECORDS FALL: The Fire broke two more individual team records on Friday night. Cesare Manning set the team record for touchdown receptions in a game with seven, and kicker Danny Kight set the record for longest field goal at 61 yards. Manning also established a 2005 league high for touchdown receptions and Kight established the league high for longest field goal.
