
Slow start leads to first summer camp loss for Lincoln Generals

The Lincoln Generals dropped their first game yesterday in AAPBL Summer League action in Billings, Mont. The Wyoming Golden Eagles rode a strong second half and Leroy Hickerson's 30-point effort to defeat Lincoln 111-92. "We just didn't shoot the ball well early in the game," Generals coach Mark Berokoff said. "They're (The fans at the game) are calling it the most exciting game here at the camp so far." The Generals fought back after their slow start The Generals started slowly, scoring only 14 points in the first quarter. That, coupled with Wyoming's 65 second-half points, spelled doom for Lincoln. The Generals finished the game shooting 37 percent, including 52 percent on free throws. Aderick Hills led the Generals with 18 points, including his 8-for-11 effort at the free throw line. He tied with three other players with three steals to lead the squad. David Johnson shot 5-for-7 from the field and added five free throws for his 15 points. Terris Sifford led Lincoln with six rebounds. Yesterday (Wednesday) the Generals faced the Hutchinson Ball Hogs.
