Sliders Field Manager Resigns

September 23, 2015 - Prospect League (Prospect)
Springfield Sliders News Release

Sliders Field Manager Ryan Lauer accepted a full time coaching position with Indian Hills Community College as the Head Assistant Coach and will not be able to serve as manager in Springfield in 2016 due to his obligations with his new position.

Lauer took over the field manager position mid-season when then manager Casey Dill resigned his position due to personal reasons. Lauer had been the Head Assistant under Dill and took over the Field Manager position July 16th. The Sliders went 11-9 under Ryan's leadership and nearly made the playoffs.

"Ryan stepped up and did a great job keeping the team motivated and focused during the stretch run to end the season. It's always a little difficult to take over in the middle of a season and Ryan did a great job orchestrating the transation. We wanted him back for 2016 but we are very excited that he is getting an opportunity to prove himself at Indian Hills and we wish him nothing but the best," said Sliders General Manager Bill Hill.

The Sliders have begun the search for a candidate to replace Lauer and will likely have that announcement in a few weeks.
