
Slammers Open Series with Big Win vs. ThunderBolts

Joliet Slammers News Release
Joliet, IL - The Joliet Slammers presented by ATI Physical Therapy opened their series versus the Windy City ThunderBolts (4-2) with an 8-2 win. The Slammers (2-5) have now won two games in a row.
The Slammers were trailing 2-0 in the middle of the 4th but took a lead in the bottom half of the inning and didn't look back. Travis Bolin and Ridge Hoopi-Haslam each collected an RBI in the inning for the Slammers.
Joliet's offense continued its tear in the bottom of the 6th inning posting a four-spot with Chaz Meadows forcing a bad throw with the bases loaded. Travis Bolin, Cody Clark and Alex Krupa scored on the error making it a 6-2 game.
Two more runs came across the plate in the bottom of the 7th for the Slammers making it an 8-2 ballgame.
Travis Bolin is tonight's Merchant's and Manufacturers Bank Player of the Game after going 3-4 an RBI, and two runs scored.
The Slammers continue the series tomorrow night against the ThunderBolts at 6:05 pm. Saturday is Stroke Awareness Night at Joliet Route 66 Stadium.
