Slammers Get Offensive

PELHAM, Ala. – The Alabama Slammers acquired veteran center Paul Vincent from the Lakeland Loggerheads today in exchange for Slammers forward Justin Schabes.

"Paul is an explosive player who has produced everywhere he has played and should provide us some much needed offense." Garry Unger, Slammers Head Coach said. "With his size and skill, he is a dangerous scoring threat every time he steps on the ice."

Vincent, a 10-year veteran, is a 6'5", 236 lb. center and native of Utica, NY. Vincent recorded 4 assists in three games with the Loggerheads this season. Paul registered 27 goals and 63 assists for 90 points in 42 games during the 2002-03 season. The majority of those came with the Jacksonville Barracudas of the ACHL where in 22 games he had 14 goals and 37 assists for 51 points.

"I am excited about the opportunity of playing for Coach Unger and the Alabama Slammers," Vincent said. "I'm looking forward to getting in the line-up this weekend and hope to provide the offensive spark they are looking for."

Vincent is expected to be in the line-up this Friday, November 21st, vs. Orlando at 7:05 p.m. Fans can save $6.00 off their ticket purchase at the Pelham Civic Complex box office by presenting their Iron Bowl tickets. The first 1,000 fans will receive FREE Cheer Stix courtesy of Coca-Cola.
