Skyrockets Sign New Forward

Minot, ND - The Minot Skyrockets are pleased to announce the signing of Kevin Johnson from Charlotte. Johnson is a 6'8" forward from the University of North Carolina - Charlotte. During his senior year (2003-04), he averaged 6.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.0 assists.

In 2005-06, he played with the Fayetteville Patriots (D-League) and averaged 9.7 points and 3.2 rebounds. Johnson played a second season in the D-League with the Los Angeles D-Fenders and averaged 8.2 points and 2.4 rebounds. He then signed with the Panteras de Miranda in Venezuela where he put up 9.8 ppg and 3.8 rpg. In 2007, he again joined the D-League, this time with the Utah Flash, before heading to the Czech Republic.

"Kevin has big shoes to fill, but we have six games to get him acclimated to our system. We expect him to fit right in," said Head Coach Chris Daleo. Johnson played his first game with the Skyrockets on Thursday night in Albany. He had 8 points and 2 rebounds in the game and will see more playing time Friday and Saturday night against the Patroons.
