Minot Skyrockets News Release

Minot, ND - March 20, 2007 - The Minot Skyrockets have made history in their first year as a CBA Professional Basketball Team. Guard Desmond Ferguson presently has 157 3-point field goals, placing him 2nd on the CBA all-time record list for most 3-point field goals in a regular season. He trails only Carl Thomas who had 175 3-pointers in the 1995-96 season, and with 3 games left on the season, Desmond has a chance at slipping into the top spot.

Ronnie Fields is currently 20th all-time in points scored with 5114. He surpassed the 5,000 point mark on Friday, February 2nd when the Skyrockets played the Indiana Alley Cats at the Minot Auditorium. Ronnie is also the only player in CBA history to lead the leauge in both points and steals, a feat he accomplished in two consecutive years (2002-03, 2003-04).

The Skyrockets are continuing their run at a championship. They will be playing the Albany Patroons at home on Wednesday, March 21, 2007. This game will be key for the Skyrockets, as Albany is currently in first place. If the Skyrockets can get a win against Albany, it will give them the tie-breaker in the head-to-head series (currently 5-5) and will put them in a strong position to take the lead in quarter points with both teams going on the road for two final games.

Wednesday's game will tip-off at 7:05 pm at the Minot Municipal Auditorium. This is the final regular season game for the Skyrockets' inaugural season. If the Skyrockets make it to the Championship Series, they will play at home on Tuesday, March 27th and Wednesday, March 28th against the Yakama Sun Kings.
