Sussex Skyhawks News Release
Not only will the Sussex Skyhawks host their in-state rival, the New Jersey Jackals, on July 24, but they will also welcome some of their youngest fans to an afternoon filled with fun and games.
Sponsored by Newton Memorial Hospital and GBW Insurance in cooperation with Joe Hirsh Productions, the Karavan of Kids Fun Fest will take place at Skylands Park from noon to 5 p.m. before and during the Saturday matinee game against the Jackals, with the first pitch scheduled for 2:05 PM.
This event will have activities and entertainment specifically tailored to 3-12 year-olds, including an "Amazing Art Project" that is geared to help the children realize their dreams. Other activities include a Hula Hoop Extravaganza, nature and science activities, vendors, and much more.
Rusty, the great-great grandson of the famous dog Lassie, will make an appearance, along with the Husky Haven Race Team. A "Main Stage" will present musical, theatrical, and dance performances with the goal of audience participation. The vendor area will be kid-focused and include toys, books, face painting, balloon art, sand art, and other fun things for families to participate in.
To become a part of "the ultimate kids festival where children can create a dream," families are encouraged to contact the Sussex Skyhawks' box office before the event is sold out. The gates will open two hours before game time for this unique event.
