SkyHawks Take First Win of Regular Season

OTTAWA - Ottawa's very own SkyHawks took to the courts tonight against the Halifax Rainmen, and came away with their first victory of the regular season! It was head-to-head for the first three quarters, but your Ottawa SkyHawks came through when it mattered and claimed their victory by winning 111-100 against the Rainmen.
Owner Gus Takkale called the win earlier while the team warmed up. In a video for Facebook and Twitter, he claimed if he could make the shot from the three point line the SkyHawks would take the win. In his first shot he sunk the ball, and with his perfect bucket, he solidified ours.
The SkyHawks entertained the crowd with above-the-rim plays including two-handed monster dunks from Tirrell Baines and a vicious alley-oop from Justin Tubbs. The fans at the CTC were on their feet, and among them was Mika Zibanejad from the Ottawa Senators. Ryan Anderson showed off his ball handling and shooting ability especially in the fourth quarter. "It's not how you start, it's how you finish" Ryan Anderson said, and truer words have never been spoken.
Guard Justin Tubbs scored the highest points for the SkyHawks with 26 points and grabbed 8 rebounds, while Ryan Anderson close behind him with 22 points and 5 steals. Jermaine Johnson remains the leading rebound champion with 9 rebounds tonight.
