Skyforce Defeat Mad Ants

Fort Wayne, IN (December 2, 2008)- The Sioux Falls Skyforce finished with seven players in double figures to defeat the Fort Wayne Mad Ants for the second game in a row, 111-98.

The Skyforce got out to a quick 15-4 lead due to sloppy play by the Mad Ants. Hot shooting by Dewitt Scott brought the Mad Ants back from their struggling start but the Skyforce scored 12 points off of Mad Ants turnovers to give them a 32-27 lead at the end of the first quarter.

The Skyforce opened period number two on an 8-0 run. The Mad Ants trailed by double digits throughout most of the quarter. The Skyforce shot 63% from the floor to give them a 69-48 lead at the half.

The Skyforce continued to dominate the game and found their largest lead of the game, 26, with four minutes left in the third quarter.

The Mad Ants tried to make a late run in the fourth and cut the lead to 11 late in the quarter but it was a little too late as the Skyforce held on to the lead to finish the game.

The Skyforce were led by Carl Elliot who finished with 20 points. Michael Joiner had a big night with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Frank Williams, Bobby Jones, Gary Forbes, and Chris Alexander finished with 17, 14, 14, and 13 respectively.

The Mad Ants leading scorer was Ron Howard who led all scorers with 29 points. Chris Hunter had a monstrous night with 17 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 blocked shots. Scott finished with 18.

With the win the Skyforce jump to 2-1 as the Mad Ants fall to 1-2.
