
SkyChiefs to Honor Two at Hot Stove Thursday

SYRACUSE (NY) â The Syracuse SkyChiefs announced today that the club will honor MIKE LABULIS and DAVE CHAYKA at the team's annual HOT STOVE on February 5.
LABULIS, President & Business Agent for Local 320 at Lockheed Martin, will receive the Tom Higgins Bull Pen Chief Award given annually by the SkyChiefs to a community leader who has provided exemplary support for professional baseball in Syracuse. LABULIS has coordinated the annual Lockheed Martin Family Night with the SkyChiefs for over 10 years.
CHAYKA, of Tom Duffy Travel, will receive the Jake Meyers Great Guy Award given annually by the SkyChiefs to an individual who devotes a good deal of their time to further enhance Syracuse SkyChiefs baseball in Central New York. CHAYKA has coordinated the very successful Lions Club Night at the stadium for more than 15 years.
The SkyChiefs 43rd Annual Hot Stove is Thursday, February 5 at the Holiday Inn Liverpool from 6 PM to 8 PM. Scheduled guest include SkyChiefs manager MARTY PEVEY, SkyChiefs pitcher and Syracuse native SCOTT CASSIDY, former SkyChiefs pitcher MARK LUKASIEWICZ, Blue Jays minor league pitcher DAVID BUSH, Auburn Doubledays manager DENNIS HOLMBERG and the 2003 NY-Penn League MVP and Triple Crown winner VITO CHIARAVALLOTI.
Prior to the event, a Silent Auction of sports memorabilia will take place featuring such items as a Nolan Ryan autograph baseball, Scott Walker Nashville Predators autograph jersey, Boston Celtics great JoJo White autograph basketball and much more. Net proceeds from the Silent Auction will go to benefit a local charity. The Silent Auction will begin at 6 PM.
Tickets are $5 for adults and free for children 12 years of age and younger. Tickets are now available at the SkyChiefs offices at P&C Stadium during normal business hours.
