Sky Blue FC News Release
Tinton Falls, N.J. - Sky Blue FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) announced today that it will be partnering with The Pride Center of New Jersey in a collective effort to promote Sky Blue FC Pride Night on Sunday, June 19th, when the team plays host to Seattle Reign FC at Yurcak Field.
"We look forward to working with The Pride Center of New Jersey," said Tony Novo, Sky Blue FC President & General Manager. "While the initial focus of our partnership is to co-promote our Pride Night on June 19th, we will certainly look to expand our relationship with their organization beyond that. We know that we can do some very positive things together."
The Pride Center of New Jersey first opened its doors in 1994, and it has supported the needs of thousands of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTIQ) people during that time. With a community center located in Highland Park, The Pride Center of New Jersey is a "safe place" for the LGBTIQ community that offers many resources while also providing an inviting social atmosphere.
"We are thrilled to partner with Sky Blue FC for its Pride Night," said Mark McSpirit, President of The Pride Center of New Jersey. "The night will be a fun filled evening for LGBT families and our entire community. A great chance to show your pride and enjoy a great soccer game!"
McSpirit also provided additional information about the organization.
"The Pride Center of New Jersey serves the LGBT community throughout Central New Jersey," he remarked. "It is a welcoming place to meet, socialize, share, bond, grow in self-awareness and thrive in an inclusive and diverse community."
As noted above, Sky Blue FC will be celebrating with The Pride Center of New Jersey when the team hosts its Pride Night on Sunday, June 19th. The New Jersey club will welcome Seattle Reign FC to Yurcak Field that evening, with kickoff set for 6:00 PM.
