San Antonio FC News Release
SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio FC defenders Shannon Gomez and Trova Boni, midfielders Bura, Kevon Lambert and Mohamed Omar and forward Machop Chol have received international call-ups for their respective national teams for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, the club announced today.
Gomez earns his second call-up to the Trinidad & Tobago National Team this year. The 27-year-old has appeared in all but one match with SAFC this season - a 2-0 win over Colorado Springs in March when the defender was on national team duty for CONCACAF Nations League play. The Soca Warriors will match up against Saint Kitts and Nevis and Costa Rica.
Bura is called up for Guinea-Bissau as they take on Ethiopia and Egypt. The midfielder has featured in 26 matches for Guinea-Bissau and led the squad as captain in six matches. Bura has one goal and one assist in 357 minutes of play for San Antonio this season.
Lambert receives the call-up for Jamaica as the team prepares to face the British Virgin Islands and Guatemala. Since debuting in 2017, Lambert has made 27 caps for the Reggae Boyz. He has played every minute for SAFC this season, scoring two goals and captaining the squad on three occasions.
Chol is set to join the South Sudan National Team for its AFCON qualifiers. The forward has scored two goals in seven matches since joining San Antonio in April. South Sudan will open its qualifying slate against Togo before taking on Sudan.
Mohamed Omar received his first international call-up for Somalia, while Trova Boni was named for selection for Burkina Faso. Omar and Boni both withdrew from their respective groups due to injury.
