Phoenix Rising FC News Release
Phoenix Rising FC has loaned Ryan Flood to Orange County SC, pending league and federation approval, the club announced today.
Rising retains the right to recall Flood at any point this season.
"An opportunity was presented to us that allows Ryan increase the amount of playing time he is currently receiving with us," said Rising head coach Danny Stone. "He's a developing player and those minutes are vital to his progress, so we felt it was the best fit for us and Ryan at this time. We'll closely monitor his progress and wish him all the best during the loan."
Flood, 25, signed with Rising for the second time in his career on March 14 of this year after a very successful stint with Finn Harps of the League of Ireland's first division in 2023. He has made three league appearances for Phoenix, totaling 104 minutes as well as one appearance in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup (30 minutes). Flood scored 14 goals in 36 appearances across all competitions during his time in Ireland.
Flood initially signed with Rising on March 31, 2021. He appeared in 36 matches over two seasons, totaling 2,049 minutes. He scored an impressive goal in a 3-1 loss in El Paso on Aug. 27, 2022.
Flood began his career in Arizona, starring at Corona del Sol High School in Tempe. Following high school, Flood traveled to Brazil and Japan in pursuit of a pro career before returning to play for FC Arizona. Flood was the co-leading scorer for FC Arizona in 2020.
