SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Sioux Falls Stampede forward Jaksen Panzer has been named United States Hockey League (USHL) Forward of the Week after an explosive three-game weekend. The East Grand Forks, Minn. native marked four goals and two assists for six points, his best series total this season.

Panzer, who has committed to play for the University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks, started his weekend with an unassisted, breakaway goal in the third period of Friday's matchup against the Waterloo Black Hawks. His goal marked the second of the night for the Stampede putting the Herd within a goal of the Black Hawks, but the Herd ultimately came up short in the end.

Saturday night was an even stronger night for Panzer, when he marked a goal and two assists for the Stampede. He earned his first point of the night by marking the second assist on teammate Adam Zlnka's goal, opening the scoring for the game. Panzer snuck his own goal behind Fargo's Anton Castro to put the Stampede up 2-1 just six minutes into the game. Making his mark on the first period, Panzer was able to assist Will McDonough on his first goal of the night at the 12:18 mark. He earned the Third Star of the Game nod in the 5-4 loss to the Force.

Panzer dominated the third period scoreboard on Sunday afternoon in Sioux City, marking two goals for the Stampede, including the eventual game winning goal and an empty-net, insurance goal to cement the win. He was able to find the back of the Musketeers' net just 56 seconds into the third period, while on the powerplay, with an assist from Maddox Fleming. After Sioux City pulled their netminder, Croix Kochendorfer, with less than two minutes remaining, Panzer was able to breakaway from the action and score a second time. He earned himself the First Star of the Game honor with teammate JJ Wiebusch taking the Second Star nod.

Jaksen Panzer has now scored 11 goals for the Herd this season in 47 games. Assisting on eight of his teammates' goals, he now holds 19 points this season. Panzer currently holds a -5 rating, tallying a +4 rating this weekend. He currently ranks fourth amongst all Stampede players in goals scored.

The Stampede currently reside in fifth place in the Western Conference and continue their playoff push this Friday when they travel to Omaha to face the Lancers at 7:05 PM. Fans can listen to the game live on KELO News Talk 1320-AM, 105.1-FM, 107.9-FM and KELO.com or watch on FloHockey.com.
