Rochester Knighthawks News Release

(Rochester, NY)... Six members of the Rochester Knighthawks lacrosse team were named today to the 2008 National Lacrosse League All-Star ballot. Goalie Pat O'Toole, defenseman Regy Thorpe, transition player Steve Toll, and forwards John Grant, Shawn Williams and Scott Evans are now eligible for the 2008 All-Star Game, which will take place on Sunday, March 16th at Rexall Place in Edmonton, home of the Edmonton Rush.

Fan balloting for the 2008 NLL All-Star Game is underway. All ballots will be cast through the league's official online community, at NLL.com/Community. Fans that have not already registered with the NLL Online Community will need to register before voting. Registration is online and free of charge. Fan balloting will remain open until February 24th. Fans may submit one ballot per day.

Fans will be able to vote for the starting lineups for both the East and West teams. The East team will consist of All-Stars from the seven teams of the East Division (Buffalo Bandits, Chicago Shamrox, Minnesota Swarm, New York Titans, Philadelphia Wings, Rochester Knighthawks and Toronto Rock). The West team will consist of All-Stars from the five teams of the West Division (Calgary Roughnecks, Colorado Mammoth, Edmonton Rush, Portland LumberJax, and San Jose Stealth).

Fans will select a starting lineup for the East and West teams consisting of three forwards, one transition player, one defenseman and one goaltender. The fan vote will combine with the vote of league media and the team General Managers/Head Coaches vote to determine the East and West starting lineups. Each will account for one-third of the total vote for the starting lineups.

The reserve players on each All-Star roster will be selected by the All-Star Game coaches. Each All-Star team will have 18 players, which includes 16 runners and two goaltenders. Each of the league's 12 member clubs will be represented by at least one of their players in the All-Star Game. Further information regarding the All-Star Game and surrounding events will be released shortly.
