Edinburg Coyotes News Release

Edinburg, TX; May 24, 2007- The Edinburg Coyotes and United League Baseball (ULB) announced today that they have sold the contract of infielder Aaron Sisk to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Sisk becomes the third Edinburg Coyote and sixth ULB player to be sold to a Major League Organization. Sisk will report immediately to the Tampa Bay High-A Affiliate in Vero Beach, Florida of the Florida State League. This is the second time Sisk has been picked up mid-season while playing in Edinburg. Sisk was signed by the Chicago Cubs in 2005 after playing 10 games with the Edinburg Roadrunners of the now defunct Central Baseball League.

Sisk is an 8-year veteran of professional baseball with stops at every level of the game with the exception of any major league time. The 28 year old Ft. Worth, Texas native was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 7th round of the 2000 MLB draft after playing his collegiate career at the University of New Mexico. He spent three seasons in the Blue Jays organization before being released in March of 2003. Sisk joined the Edinburg Roadrunners of the Central League in 2003 where he broke the club record for home runs in a season with 12 and played in all 96 games. In 2004 Sisk hit another 11 homers and was arguably the Roadrunners most valuable player in their six game post season run to the 2004 Central League Championship. He was picked up by the Chicago Cubs in May of 2005 and spent time in Single-A Peoria and Double-A West Tennessee putting up great numbers along the way hitting .280 with 13 home runs in 87 minor league games.

His affiliated baseball time also took him to the San Francisco Giants organizations in 2006 after he was selected by the Giants in the Rule-5 Draft during the Winter Meetings. Sisk spent all of 2006 with the Connecticut Defenders the Double-A affiliate of the Giants where he slugged 10 homers in just 237 at-bats. Sisk at the time of this release is hitting .286 with three doubles, two homers and a team high 11 RBIs for Edinburg.

Sisk joins Edwar Ramirez (Yankees) and Robinson Cancel (Mets) as former Coyotes to be picked up by a Major League organization.
