Visalia Rawhide News Release
Rawhide starter Taylor Sinclair took a no-hitter into the 7th inning tonight at Recreation Ballpark before surrendering a 1-out single to Bakersfield's Davis Stoneburner. Sinclair would pitch a complete game, allowing only 2 hits and facing the minimum 27 batters in a 5-0 Visalia win. It was Visalia's first complete game of the season.
Bakersfield had only 3 batters reach base, and all 3 were subsequently erased on the basepaths. Jonathon Greene was thrown out trying to steal in the 2nd inning after reaching on an error; Stoneburner and Erik Morrison were each erased on the front end of double plays in the 7th and 9th.
Sinclair struck out 7 batters and walked none in his complete game performance.
With the win, the Rawhide remained 1 game ahead of Modesto for the wild card playoff spot in the Cal League North, and pulled to within 2 games of Bakersfield for the 2nd half lead.
The finale of the 3-game series between the Rawhide and Blaze is Monday night at 7:00 PM.
