Vancouver Giants News Release

The Vancouver Giants lost their sixth game in a row on Saturday evening, falling 3-1 to the Everett Silvertips at the Pacific Coliseum. Tyler Benson had Vancouver's lone goal.

Benson struck first for Vancouver in the first period when he intercepted an errant pass in the neutral zone and split the Everett defence before wiring a hard wrist shot into the top right corner of the net.

Remi Laurencelle equalized for the visitors in the early stages of the middle frame, and the game was tied 1-1 after 40 minutes. Cole MacDonald scored the eventual game winning goal on a power play at 2:15 of the third period, and Matt Fonteyne added a goal of his own a few minutes later to provide some insurance.

Despite the loss, the Giants remained two points behind the Kamloops Blazers who sit in fourth place in the BC Division and four points behind the Tri-City Americans who hold the final Western Conference wild card playoff spot.

The Giants will be back in action on Tuesday at the Pacific Coliseum when they host the Spokane Chiefs on Woodwards $1.49 Day! Face-off is set for 7:00pm. For tickets, visit VancouverGiants.com or call 604-4-GIANTS (604-444-2687).
