Silvertips goaltender David Reekie made 17 saves to record his 2nd straight shutout as the Everett Silvertips defeated the Red Deer Rebels 3-0 at the Everett Events Center on Wednesday night. With the win, the Silvertips pick up their 4th win in a row and their 15th straight home victory. The Silvertips remain in 1st Place in the US Division with a record of 31-5-0-1 (63 points). It was the only meeting of the regular season with the Red Deer Rebels. Everett is now 3-1 all time against the Rebels and 2-0 against Red Deer at the Everett Events Center.

Their was no scoring through the first two periods until Moises Gutierrez cracked in his 19th goal of the season on the power play to score the eventual game winning goal. Brennan Sonne connected with his 5th goal of the season a minute and five seconds later in the 3rd period. Silvertips forward Jesse Smyke added an empty short handed goal to secure the win. Silvertips goaltender David Reekie moves his record to 13-5 on the season while Rebels netminder James Reimer falls to 16-9-2-3.

The Silvertips out shot the Rebels by a margin of 32-17 in the hockey game. Everett went 1 for 6 on the power play and Red Deer went 0 for 5 on the extra man advantage.

The Silvertips will hit the road on Friday night to battle the Spokane Chiefs at Spokane Arena in Spokane, WA. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
