Dayton Silverbacks News Release
The Miami Valley Silverbacks will pay tribute to a championship squad Friday night during halftime of their game with Port Huron.
The 2006 OHSAA Division II state football champion Piqua Indians will be honored during a special halftime ceremony at Rapid Fire Field at Hobart Arena. The Indians, led by Mr. Football Brandon Saine, captured the school's first football state title last fall.
The special ceremony will be one part of a wild Family Night sponsored by Petland of Piqua. Activities start at 6:30 when the Columbus Zoo will be at Hobart Arena with an unique exhibit of exotic animals that have been seen with Jack Hannah's tour. The animals will be around until the 7:30 p.m. kickoff with the Pirates.
Also on Friday night, Fazoli's will sponsor Meatball Madness during halftime.
Tickets are still available at the Hobart Arena ticket office or online at the Silverbacks' website at www.silverbacksfootball.com.
