Silverbacks re-sign Buckeye's Conwell

(Troy, OH) The Miami Valley Silverbacks professional indoor football team has come to terms with Chris Conwell.

The Former Ohio State University Buckeye will once again wear the Black and Silver in 2007. Conwell (5'11" 185) will lead a defensive backfield that is loaded with talent.

"Chris is a shutdown corner," stated Silverbacks Head Coach and General Manager Matthew King. "He has tremendous character, athletic ability, leadership, and he should be at the next level. After this season, we expect to lose him to the Arena Football League."

Conwell, a member of Ohio State's 2002 National Championship team, is excited about returning for the 2007 season. "The fans of the Miami Valley are top-notch," stated Conwell. "It's just so much fun to play for this organization and the Silverbacks fans. I am excited about this upcoming season, and I know that we will be a contender."

Defensive Coordinator Carl Allen stated, "I am extremely happy to have Chris back with us. Not only is he a great Corner, but he will help us guide our young talent back there. He will play a very important role for us this season."

The Silverbacks, a member of the Continental Indoor Football League, are gearing up for their 2007 home opener on March 30th.
