The prize money totals $25,000: $15,000 for the winner, $5,000 for the runner-up, $2,500 for the third-place team, and an additional $2,500 for the winning team's league.
Since its inception in 2005, the annual tournament has been a huge success, drawing thousands of people to Atlanta Silverbacks Park. Last year, Future Stars Premier of the Georgia Metro Soccer Association beat Real Tapatio 5-2 in a decisive finish. This year's Atlanta Silverbacks Champions League will run from September 10 - October 20, and all games will be played on certain Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
The Atlanta Silverbacks will hold a press conference on Tuesday, September 4th at 6:00 pm to draw the groups for this year's tournament. Michael Oki, Director of Atlanta Silverbacks Park, will be there to answer questions. For more information call 404-969-4900.
