Silverbacks drop first of the year
November 12, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Buffalo Silverbacks News Release
The Buffalo Silverbacks let their first away game of the season slip away with a 128-113 finish against the Detroit Panthers Sunday night. It was a four point game, 29-25 Detroit after the first quarter which Buffalo evened up to 52-52 by the end the first half.
The shooting of Ty Mack, 26 points, and Willie Wallace, 25 points, gave Detroit as much as a 23 point lead, which Buffalo whittled away at. Buffalo outscored Detroit 39-41 in the 4th quarter, but it still wasn't enough to earn them the victory.
For two consecutive games Antoine Sims has lead the Silverbacks in scoring, bringing home 24 points tonight. The blue collar hustle of Marlin Johnson was close behind with 22 points.
The Silverbacks had 6'8" Canisius grad Andy Bush and 6'7" Captain of the '03 Syracuse Championship team Kueth Duany both out with injuries.
The Silverbacks next match-up is this Thursday, November 16th as they face off against the Rochester Razorsharks. Please visit www.buffalosilverbacks.com for more info.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
