Dayton Silverbacks News Release
Troy, OH - The Miami Valley Silverbacks Professional Arena Indoor Football team in Troy brings a lot of talent to the field. The Silverbacks have been on fire and making the Miami Valley proud.
Just two weeks ago, Maurice Lee set five American Indoor Football League Records in the Silverbacks win against Steubenville. Lee and Joe Washington each brought home new titles after the team's win against Syracuse. Lee was named the northern conference's Offensive Player of the Week and Washington was elected Offensive Lineman Player of the Week.
Another gifted Silverback is Jermaine Clements. If his last name sounds familiar, that is because the love of football runs in his family. His brother, Nate Clements, plays for the Buffalo Bills. "Nate and I share a lot of advice about football with each other. I try to turn my game around by how he plays because of the success it has brought him. He helps me prepare physically and mentally for a game."
Head Coach Matt King is pleased to have Clements playing for the Silverbacks. "Jermaine has a lot of talent that obviously runs in his family. We hope that we can prepare our players for the next step they may take in their careers, but we hope to hold on to Jermaine for a while."
Jermaine Clements is a 6'1", 205-pound Defensive Back from Northern Iowa. Clements came to the Miami Valley thanks to fellow teammate Maurice Lee who told Clements about the Silverback's team. "Maurice and I have been playing football together since we were ten. When he told me about the opportunity and I met the other players and coaches, I knew it would be a good fit."
"Jermaine has a lot of agility and speed with a compact frame. He also has an outstanding personality just like the rest of his teammates." King said. "When we recruit we look for players that play at a high rate, are a good influence to the community and great role models for kids. These qualities combined together make an excellent recipe for a successful football team".
