THIS WEEK'S GAMES:

Wednesday, July 21 at Phoenix Mercury @ America West Arena 2:00 p.m. The Ticket 760 AM

This will be the third of four matchups between the Silver Stars and Mercury. San Antonio has split the season series with Phoenix so far at one game apiece. The Silver Stars took the first game winning in overtime at America West Arena, 80-72, on June 26 and the Mercury won in San Antonio on June 29, 77-65. The Silver Stars trail the all-time series by just one game with a record of 13-14 against the Mercury. The two teams will meet again on Friday, July 30 when the Silver Stars play host to the Mercury at the SBC Center with tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m.

Saturday, July 24 at Connecticut Sun @ Mohegan Sun Arena 11:00 a.m. Oxygen Network, KSJL 810 AM

This will be the second and final meeting between the Silver Stars and Sun. This is also the Silver Stars' first ever trip to Connecticut. The Silver Stars took the first contest this season, 78-67, in San Antonio on July 15. The all-time series between these two teams is deadlocked at four games apiece. San Antonio looks to take the lead in the series with a win.

Thursday, July 15 vs. Connecticut Sun W 78-67

LaToya Thomas scored a season-high 23 points as the San Antonio Silver Stars ended a fivegame losing streak with a 78-67 win over the Connecticut Sun ... the Silver Stars, who never trailed, led by nine at the break and went on a 20-6 run to begin the second half to put the game out of reach ... Agnieszka Bibrzycka added 19 points, while forward Adrienne Goodson had 14 and 10 rebounds for the San Antonio.

Sunday, July 18 at Detroit Shock L 77-71

The Silver Stars made it a game late but could not overtake the Detroit Shock, losing 77-71 ... Detroit was coasting along with a 66-49 lead with 8:40 left before the Silver Stars went on a 15-0 run to pull within two with four minutes remaining ... that would be as close as San Antonio would get as Ruth Riley and Deanna Nolan hit key free throws down the stretch to seal the Shock victory ... Shannon Johnson led San Antonio with 25 points and LaToya Thomas added 17.

Silver Stars Transactions

On July 19, San Antonio acquired Adrian Williams from the Phoenix Mercury in exchange for Gwen Jackson.

Stars in the Community

On Monday, July 26 Silver Stars Head Coach Dee Brown and guard Marie Ferdinand will drop by the Thousand Oaks/El Sendero Branch Library where they will be reading to Mateo Mejia and his friends in the summer library program. Mejia is the grand prize winner of this summer's Silver Stars/Whataburger "What'cha Reading" program.

This Week in Silver Stars History

High Score: On July 23, 1997 the Starzz/Silver Stars scored a franchise record 102 points in a regulation game as they defeated the Los Angeles Sparks 102-89.
