
Silver Stars Waive Four

SAN ANTONIO â San Antonio Silver Stars Chief Operating Officer Clarissa Davis-Wrightsil announced today that the Silver Stars have waived forward/center Erin Batth, guard Juana Brown, forward/center Cindy Dallas and forward Kym Hope. The moves trim the Silver Stars roster to 14, while final cut-downs are scheduled for Wednesday, May 19.
Batth, a rookie free agent, played in both of the Silver Stars preseason games, averaging 1.0 points in 3.0 minutes per game. During the 2004 off-season Batth played in Greece with Appolon Ptolemaida, averaging 7.6 points and 7.5 rebounds in 23.2 minutes per game.
Brown, also a rookie free agent, appeared in both of the Silver Stars preseason games, averaging 4.5 points and 2.0 rebounds in 10.0 minutes per game. A graduate from the University of North Carolina, Brown earned All-ACC Third Team honors in 1999 and averaged 13.0 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 124 games.
Dallas, the Silver Stars 2004 second round draft pick (21st overall), played in both of San Antonio's preseason games. She averaged 4.0 points and 1.5 rebound in 6.5 minutes per game. Dallas ended her career at the University of Illinois as the Illini's all-time leading rebounder and ranks sixth in Big Ten history with 1,014 career rebounds.
Hope was trying to make the Silver Stars roster for the second time in her WNBA career. She played in three games with the Utah Starzz in 2000. In the Silver Stars two preseason games, she averaged 3.0 points and 1.0 assists in 9.5 minutes per game. Hope spent the 2004 off-season playing for the Houston Stealth of the NWBL. In 17 games, she averaged 8.2 points and 3.8 rebounds in 19.4 minutes per game.
The Silver Stars will play one more preseason game at the SBC Center on Saturday, May 15 hosting the Houston Comets before opening up the 2004 regular season at Houston on Thursday, May 20. San Antonio will take on Swin Cash, Cheryl Ford and the defending WNBA Champion Detroit Shock in their home opener on Saturday, May 22 at 7:00 p.m. at the SBC Center.
