Silver Stars and Waste Management to Host Go Green Night

SAN ANTONIO, Aug. 18, 2010 - The San Antonio Silver Stars and Waste Management will host a Go Green Night on Friday, Aug. 20, as the Stars tip off against the Indiana Fever at 7 p.m. at the AT&T Center.

Fans who bring plastic grocery bags for recycling will receive a voucher good for four free tickets to Sunday's regular season finale against the Phoenix Mercury at 3 p.m. Silver Stars center Ruth Riley will also provide in-game tips to help fans Go Green via recorded PSA videos.

Friday's game also is Dollar Night at the AT&T Center, where fans can enjoy $1 beer, fountain drinks, and hot dogs while taking in an exciting night of Silver Stars action.

As the largest recycler of municipal solid waste in North America, Waste Management processes more than 5.5 million tons of recyclable materials each year through its 109 material recovery facilities. In addition to Go Green Night and Dollar Night, Friday's game will feature auditions for the Spurs 2010-11 Silver & Black Pack. The loudest and proudest Spurs fans in San Antonio will be on hand for an audition that starts at 7 p.m. at the AT&T Center's Fan Zone. After testing their passion and knowledge of Spurs basketball, the audition will have participants cheer on the Silver Stars in the second half of the game.
