South Bend Silver Hawks News Release
No. 3 Dayton to take on Silver Hawks
The number three Dayton Dragons are to take on the number six Silver Hawks this Memorial Day weekend beginning Thursday May 25 for a 4-game homestand. All games will begin at 6:30 p.m., except Sunday's final game, which begins at 1:30 p.m. The Dragons, who have just finished a series with the Southwestern Michigan Devil Rays with two wins and 2 loses are set to take on the Silver Hawks who also split their series with the Devil Rays last week, May 16-19. Looks like it will be some close competition between these two ball clubs.
Triple the deals on Triple Play Thursdays
It's all about the number 3 on Thursdays this season at the ballpark. Come out on Thursday and buy a reserve seat ticket for only $3, enjoy an ice cold Michelob Ultra in the Budweiser Bullpen Bar and Grille for just $3 and take your chances at winning 3 years of season tickets if the Silver Hawks turn a triple play in the 3rd, 6th, or 9th inning. Triple Play Thursdays are sponsored by 103.9 The Bear and WB 25, so if your lucky number is three...come out and have some fun this Thursday!

Canines at the Cove!
For the first time ever, hundreds of dogs will be allowed to roam around Coveleski Stadium during the first annual, "Canines at the Cove" event on Sunday. The first 1000 pups will receive a FREE Silver Hawks water dish. All dogs and their owners will have the opportunity to join the South Bend Police Department Canine Unit on a stroll around the field before the game. Other activities include angel readings by a pet psychic, demonstrations by the canine unit, creative stenciling (like face painting, but on fur!), nail trimming and tooth brushing services and portraits of pets with Silver Hawks mascot, "Swoop." With all the excitement that will be going on at the ballpark this Sunday, it would be a "dog"-gone shame if anyone were to miss it!
Take your 'crack' at the Cove
Want the chance to take a 'crack' at a ball on a professional baseball field? This Sunday is your chance. Tickets will be sold during Sunday's game for any persons interested in taking some post-game batting practice. Tickets are $1 per swing and $5 for 6 swings. Any participant who manages to 'crack' one out of the ballpark wins a grand prize. Wendy's will also present a post-game run of the bases, available immediately after Sunday's game (at no charge!).
Calling all scouts
Area boy and girl scouts are invited to attend a baseball game June 2 (boy, cub and eagle scouts) and June 16 (brownies and girl scouts). Both nights will have campouts on the field following post-game fireworks. Other activities for the scouts include a movie and midnight snack, as well as a breakfast in the morning and a patch! The cost is $8 for overnight and $3 for the game only. For more information contact a sales representative at 235-9988.
