San Diego Siege News Release
The San Diego Siege announced the signing of their fourth WNBA player Thursday morning, finalizing a deal with Minnesota Lynx guard Tynesha Lewis.
Lewis, a 5'10" guard completed her fifth WNBA season in 2005, earning playing time at every position on the floor with the exception of center. Her veteran leadership and versatile play make her the perfect compliment to the expansion National Women's Basketball League franchise.
Lewis was a four-time All-ACC selection at North Carolina State. As a senior, she was the only ACC player to earn Player of the Week honors twice in one season. Serving as the caption for the Conference Champs, Lewis was second on the team in scoring and rebounding (13.3 points per game and 5.4 rebounds per game), and holds the distinction as the first North Carolina State player, male or female, to post a triple-double.
Lewis played with the NWBL's Houston Stealth in 2002 and was a member of the 1998 US Women's National Select Team.
The San Diego Siege open home play Saturday, February 18 at 7 pm at San Diego City College's brand new Harry West Gymnasium. Tickets are available online at www.nwbl.com and at the ticket window Opening Night.
