
Siege Make Up 20 Point Deficit, Lose in Final Seconds

Siege down by 20, were able to fight back and take the lead on a Jessica Cheeks three with 45 seconds left in the game 80-78. It was the first time the Siege had led since early in the first quarter 4-2. The Siege were unable to keep the lead, as Jamie Carey hit a three-pointer and was fouled on the next possesion. After making the free-throw the Siege were down 82-80. The Siege were unable to score again, and fell 86-80.
Tera Bjorklund led the Siege in scoring with 24, Loree Moore was second with 14 points. Becky Hammon led the Chill with 27 points.
The Siege made their move in the third quarter, finishing with a 10-0 run. Natalie Nakase stripped Becky Hammon, made a lay-up and was fouled with 16 seconds left in the quarter. Though she missed the foul shot, the Siege were able to grab the rebound, and Jessica Mercado was fouled while shooting. She made both foul shots with :02 seconds left in the third.
The Siege were in unfamiliar territory today; a double digit deficit. The Colorado Chill pushed the tempo every possession in the first half which gave them chances for easy and open baskets. The Chill had a 21-16 lead after one and scored three three-pointers in the quarter.
The Chill pulled away in the second, and finished the half with a 48-33 lead. Tera Bjorklund kept the Siege in it early, with 12 points on 5-8 shooting. Hammon Led the Chill in first half scoring with 13.
