Siege head coach signs deal with Sports Dreammakers

Fred Williams, Head Coach of the NWBL San Diego Siege, has signed an endorsement deal with Sports Dreammakers, founder Laura Mitchell announced today.

Sports Dreammakers offers products, services, and sports mentoring to young athletes to help them reach their goals. The mission of Sports Dreammakers is to help student athletes find a way to do what before they've only dreamed.

Williams will be a spokesperson and creative consultant for the company, which features a non-profit foundation called the Bliss Avenue Sports Foundation. The Bliss Avenue Sports Foundation focuses its efforts on reaching out to underprivileged student athletes.

Hard work and determination have brought Fred Williams a long way in his basketball career. From winning NCAA National Championships to coaching and mentoring professional athletes, Williams has been on the basketball circuit for many years.

Williams has joined Sports Dreammakers to help youngsters who share a love for sports. "I've always wanted to get into my community to offer mentoring and nurturing for young athletes." said Williams. "I hope to help young kids around the country to understand everyday life and how they can be successful in what they would like to do. I do believe Sports Dreammakers offers excellent products and services for young kids to plan, schedule, set, and reach their everyday goals."

Williams coached the USC Trojans Women's basketball team into the NCAA tournament in 1997 and finished with a 20-9 record. Williams had two tenures at USC, first from 1983 to 1991, and again as head coach 1993 to 1997. During his tenure at USC he coached notable players such as Cheryl Miller, Cynthia Cooper, Lisa Leslie, Tina Thompson,and the list goes on. Williams helped guide USC to the 1983 NCAA Championship, two NCAA Championship appearances, five conference titles, and nine NCAA tournament appearances. Head Coach of the WNBA Utah Starzz, Williams rebuilt the last place Starzz and made them into a WNBA play contender. Williams also served as an assistant coach with the Charlotte Sting with notable players such as Dawn Staley, Nicole Powell, Andrea Stinson and more. Now as head coach of the NWBL San Diego Siege, Williams is helping pro basketball players to advance as he mentors them so they can reach their career goals.
