Tucson Sidewinders News Release

Tim Olson doubled in the top of the ninth inning Sunday scoring Brad Cresse with the go-ahead and eventual winning run in Tucson's 3-2 victory over Nashville. The win enabled Tucson to split the four-game series and finish a ten-game road trip 5-5.

Brian Bruney worked around a lead-off double in the bottom of the ninth by retiring three straight Nashville for his sixth save.

Brad Cresse put the Sidewinders on the board in the second inning when he hammered a two-run homer off Nashville starter Ryan Vogelsong.

Nashville scored an unearned run in the bottom of the third when Tike Redman reached on a two-out error by Jhonny Carvajal plating Tomas De la Rosa.

The Sounds tied the game with another unearned run in the seventh. A throwing error put Humberto Cota at second with two outs. Cota scored on a single by De la Rosa when Brad Cresse missed the tag at the plate.

Sidewinders fell to 47-47. Tucson and the rest of the PCL will be off Monday-Wednesday for the all-star break. The Sidewinders return home Thursday to host Edmonton in a five-game, four-day series.
