LHP Jim Parque led the Sidewinders to a 7-0 victory to pick up his 1st win of season. The win pushed the Sidewinders to a season high 8 games over .500 with 23-15 record. The loss dropped the Zephyrs to 16-23.
Parque threw 6 scoreless innings, allowing 5 hits and a walk, while striking out 3. SS Jerry Gil had 2 triples on the night and finished 3-4 with 2 runs and an RBI. Relievers Greg Aquino and Shane Nance pitched the last 3 innings, allowing no runs and limiting New Orleans to only 1 hit while striking out 4.
For New Orleans, RHP Chris Enochs also went 6 innings, but allowed 3 runs, 2 earned on 6 hits. He took the loss and is now 1-4 on the year. 3B Mike Coolbaugh was the only Zephyr to record 2 hits in the game.
2,651 people came out to the ballpark and the game was over in 2:16. Tomorrow night's probables for the series finale feature LHP Carlos Hernandez (3-0, 1.56) for New Orleans facing RHP Edgar Gonzalez (1-4, 6.43). Game time is 6:30 PM.
