Sidekicks lose 5-4 in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE - The Dallas Sidekicks lost 5-4 to the Milwaukee Wave Saturday night in their final visit to the US Cellular Arena during the regular season. This was the first game of a home-and-home against the Wave.

The Sidekicks saw a 4-3 lead disappear when Semir Mesanovic scored the tying goal for Milwaukee (23-8) at 1:49 into the fourth quarter and Greg Howes followed less than a minute later with the game-winner at 2:36. Dallas played David Doyle as sixth attacker for 2:25, and almost tied the game as Sinisa Alebic rocketed a shot towards the Milwaukee goal, but goalkeeper Dan Green saved the attempt as the Wave went on to clinch the victory.

The Sidekicks (18-14) took a their lead late in the third quarter as Nick Stavrou scored a shorthanded goal at 14:31. Dallas' Patrick Shamu was called for tripping just outside the penalty arc at 12:34 to set up the power play for Milwaukee. Stavrou's goal was the first shorthanded goal of the season for Dallas. Eric Dade opened up the second half scoring at 8:49 of the third to tie the game at three.

David Doyle put the Sidekicks on the board at 9:53 of the second with a power play goal. Kenny Bundy pulled Dallas to within one at 12:02 of the second with an assist from Shaun David, his first of two for the night.

Milwaukee jumped to an early 3-0 lead with two goals from Todd Dusosky at 9:34 and 12:39 of the first quarter and a shootout goal from Joe Reiniger at 4:51 of the second. Milwaukee was granted the shootout attempt after Sinisa Alebic was called for tripping Todd Dusosky as he was on a breakaway towards the Dallas goal.

The Sidekicks finish the home-and-home vs. Milwaukee Sunday March 21 at Reunion Arena at 6:05 p.m. Coverage on KSKY 660 AM begins at 5:50 p.m.
