Shuckers Washed out Again on Monday

JACKSONVILLE, FL - Biloxi's first game as a home team will have to wait. Monday's series opener between the Shuckers and Jacksonville Suns (MIA) at Bragan Field has been postponed by rain and wet grounds. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Tuesday, involving two seven-inning contests. Game one will begin at 4:35 p.m. CST, with game two beginning 30 minutes following the conclusion of game one.

Monday was originally going to be Biloxi's first scheduled "home" game of the season, but for the third time in 11 days, rain has put a halt to game day. Tuesday will be the second doubleheader of the season in just under two weeks of play. The Shuckers are 4-0 in nine-inning games this season, while 1-4 in games played less than the expected nine.

In game one RHP Brooks Hall (1-0, 1.80) will take the hill for the Shuckers against RHP Trevor Williams (0-0, 0.75 ERA) for Jacksonville in game one. RHP Jacob Barnes (0-1, 1.93) will start the nightcap for Biloxi and be opposed by Jacksonville LHP Chipper Smith (1-0, 0.00).

With the doubleheader on Tuesday, the Suns and Shuckers will play three games in the span of 24-hours, with Wednesday's game scheduled for a 12:05 p.m. CST start.

The Shuckers (5-4) are four games into a 21-day stretch of games, including a twin bill with the Pensacola Blue Wahoos on Sunday, April 26. Biloxi currently holds second place in the Southern League South division standings, a half games back of the Mobile BayBears. As of Monday, the Shuckers have the second-best ERA in the Southern League (2.45) behind only Jacksonville (2.33) and has allowed the least amount of runs (21).
