Shreveport Ties Series at Two – Forces Game Five

It's definitely play-off atmosphere at Pelican Park filled with several leads changes, homeruns, ups and downs, drama and now a game five of the CBL East Division. Shreveport came back in the 7th inning scoring runs in each the 7th, 8th and 9th innings to win 7-5.

Pensacola got off to a rocky start early in the first inning, giving up three runs to Shreveport. Pensacola was not down long as they tied the game by scoring one run in the second by a Clay Cleveland single that scored Jose Salas and scored two more in the third by a two RBI single from Mike Rodriguez.

Pensacola took the lead in the fourth by another Cleveland RBI single and a Rafael Alvarez gave the Pelicans a two run lead by an RBI single that scored Cleveland.

Pelicans' starter, Santos Hernandez did not make it out of the first inning, yet left the Pelicans in a hole as he gave up those three runs on three hits. Bubba Dobson came onto pitch and shut-out the Sports for four and two-thirds inning, giving up only two hits while striking out three.

Shreveport got to the Pelicans' bullpen in the 7th inning when they tied the game at five thanks to a Juan Rocha two-run homerun. They added one more run in the 8th and one in the 9th to make the final score 7-5.

The win forces game five, the winner moving onto the CBL Championship and the loser going home.
