EDINBURG 7, AMARILLO 0 (Edinburg wins series 3-0)

@ Amarillo, Texas. Time: 2:44 ATT: 720

W: Dan Valentin (1-0) L: Keith Ferguson (0-1) S: None

HR: None

Edinburg's lights-out pitching was too much for Amarillo in the series, as a dynamite outing by starter Dan Valentin led the Roadrunners into the CBL finals. Valentin went seven innings, scattering four hits and striking out six, while Ryan Harris finished off the Dillas in the final two innings for the win. Edinburg roughed up Dillas starter Keith Ferguson to the tune of four runs in his only two innings of work, and it would be turn out to be too big a hole for Amarillo to climb out of. 2B Anthony Angel led the way offensively for the Roadrunners, going 3-for-4 with a double and five RBI, while SS Aaron Sisk also had two hits.

PENSACOLA 8, SHREVEPORT 6 (Pensacola leads series 2-1)

@ Pensacola, Fla. Time: 3:35 ATT: 1,199

W: Gerardo Casadiego (1-0) L: Carl Makowsky (0-1) S: None

HR: SHR – Juan Rocha (1), PEN – Rafael Alvarez (1), George Branch (1)

CL Player of the Year Rafael Alvarez's two-run walk-off blast off of Shreveport's Carl Makowsky gave the Pelicans the win and the 2-1 advantage in the series. Pensacola went up 2-1 after LF George Branch's second-inning RBI double, and they made the lead 3-1 after a C J.A. Salas RBI single in the third. The Sports then came back with two in the fourth and three more in the seventh, including a homer from RF Juan Rocha, to take a 6-3 lead. But the advantage wouldn't stand, as Branch slugged a three-run shot in the eighth to tie the game, and Alvarez's one-out jack in the ninth now puts the Pelicans one win away from a date with Edinburg in the CL finals.
