Birmingham Squadron News Release
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham Squadron topped the Memphis Hustle, 124-112, on Sunday afternoon at the Landers Center in Southaven, Miss. despite playing only seven players.
Landers Nolley II recorded his second-career triple-double with 28 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists and led Birmingham (11-12) in points scored on the day. Tevian Jones matched Nolley's point total with 28 as well, while Izaiah Brockington scored 27 to go along with 14 rebounds.
With only three players available off the bench after four members of the Squadron were either assigned or transferred to the New Orleans Pelicans Saturday, Birmingham was only outscored 20-15 in bench points with forward Josh Nzeakor accounting for 10.
On the day, Birmingham shot 50% from three-point range and remains undefeated on the season when making at least half of its three point shots.
Memphis (10-11) was paced by a 30-piece from Adonis Arms and a 28-point, 10-rebound double-double from guard DeJon Jarreau.
Birmingham now turns its attention to March as the Squadron are set to take on the Capital City Go-Go in Washington, D.C. on March 1 at 6 p.m. The game can be viewed on My68 or NBAGLeague.com.
