Green Bay, WI - Logan Halladay (University of Minnesota) stopped 26 shots and four shots in the shootout to help the Bloomington Thunder to a 4-3 win over the Green Bay Gamblers Wednesday night. Despite two deficits, the Thunder fought back and rebounded in the shootout with a four round win. Bloomington is now 25-22-7 and moves into sole possession of the fifth position in the Eastern Conference with 57 points and playoff hopes still alive.

The Thunder did not get the start they were hoping as a Gambler 3-on-2 would be capped off by Sam Saliba netted the first goal of the game 24 seconds in. In the Thunder's first power play chance they would answer as Logan Lambdin scored his ninth goal of the year right off the faceoff. Jake Slaker won the draw and Lambdin ripped it off the near side post and in to tie the game at 7:02.

Just after the second Thunder penalty kill, Green Bay would answer to take the 2-1 lead into the break. Jake Kaupilla (Michigan Tech University) weaved his way into the offensive zone and tucked it into the net for his tenth of the season.

In the second the Thunder road saves from Halladay including a last minute save at the end of the period on Saliba. In addition, Van Barr (Western Michigan University) scored his 11th of the season to tie the game at two. He ripped the shot past the Gamblers' goaltender Adam Huska from the slot, a tally that would hold into the third period.

Matt Mendelson (Penn State University) broke the tie under four minutes into the third with a tipped shot from Max Gottlieb (Brown University). The goal was his 14th goal of the year and team leading 37th point.

Special teams played a part in the game as the Thunder went 1-4 on the power play and shutout the Gamblers on six chances.

However, with 30 seconds to play and the goaltender pulled the Gamblers would score from the point to send the game to overtime. Halladay continued to make saves in the extra period stopping four point blank chances and four straight shots in the shootout.

Mendelson picked up the game winner in the skills competition for the Thunders third win over the Gamblers and the third win in the shootout for the team.

Bloomington heads to Sioux Falls to continue their road trip on Friday at 7:05 pm CST. The last meeting was the home opener where the Thunder picked up a 2-1 win in the shootout.
