MUSKEGON, Michigan (March 25th) - The Muskegon Lumberjacks are excited to announce that alum Ryan Misiak has signed a professional contract following the recent completion of his collegiate career with the Lakers of Mercyhurst University out of the Atlantic Hockey Association. The former Lumberjacks forward has landed an amateur tryout agreement with the Reading Royals out of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL), who is the affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League (NHL) and Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Misiak, the Shelby Township, Michigan native, compiled 45 goals and 74 assists to go with a plus-nine rating in 156 games played during his college tenure with Mercyhurst University from 2011-15. This season, Misiak switched from forward to defenseman and was an Atlantic Hockey Association Second Team selection as a senior while also serving as one of two assistant captains for the Lakers. During his sophomore campaign, Misiak was selected to Atlantic Hockey's Second Team as a forward.

Misiak's notable individual accolades while at Mercyhurst include becoming the 18th member of the university's Division I 100-Point Club earlier this season on November 15th at Bentley and finishing his collegiate career tied for 11th on the school's all-time scoring list.

Prior to playing for Mercyhurst, Misiak spent two seasons in the USHL amassing 27 goals and 54 assists in 116 games combined between Sioux Falls and Muskegon. During the 2010-11 season with the Lumberjacks, Misiak totaled 63 points (16 goals, 47 assists) in 63 games and led the team in both points (58) and assists (43) during the regular season.

The former Little Caesars product was a second round draft selection at 15th overall by the Sioux Falls Stampede during the 2009 USHL Entry Draft following a season in North American Hockey League (NAHL) with the Motor City Machine.
