
Shockwave Auditions Scheduled For February 3 at Stockton Arena

STOCKTON, Calif. * The Stockton Lightning of the arenafootball2 league have announced auditions for the "Shockwave" Dance Team will be held at Stockton Arena on Saturday, February 3 beginning at 8:00 a.m.
Registration will begin at Stockton Arena's North Entry conference room beginning at 8:00 a.m., with a $20 walk-up registration fee required for all participants.
Shockwave dance team director Veronica Andrade and Shockwave choreographer Melissa Galvin, both formerly with the San Francisco 49ers "Gold Rush" dance team, will be on-hand to conduct auditions.
Pre-registration applications are accepted for $15 and must be received by Wednesday, January 31. A 5x7 photo is required (non-returnable) and must be mailed along with the fee to:

Preliminary auditions are scheduled to begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. All applicants must wear appropriate dance attire (no dance pants or warm-ups) and shoes (sneakers, jazz shoes, character shoes, etc.). All applicants are required to learn and perform a routine in a group-setting in front of a panel of judges. At the end of the preliminary audition, finalists will be selected to continue into the remaining round of auditions, where they will be judged based on dance ability, poise, energy, and crowd appeal.
Adding flair to the judging panel will be morning radio show host "Double J" of 97.7 and 98.3 KWIN, and television reporter Angel Cardenas of News10, who will be on-hand to serve as celebrity judges.
All applicants must be of at least 18 years of age by April 2007. There is no maximum age limit for participants who wish to tryout.
In their first season, the Lightning ranked third in af2 attendance with an average of 7,445 fans per home game. Season tickets for the 2007 Lightning regular season are on sale now.
